In 1948 my father was killed in the civil war and we were left with eight orphaned brothers. Then one of our uncles brought us to Ioannina and put us in orphanages. I went to Apostolos Pavlos. There they gave us some strange clothes, wide pants. I had put both legs on a single pant leg and a fellow villager helped me put it on properly. Unfortunately, we never lived again with my brothers in the same house.
