Maskarilikia

Tsivoula was a good person, she did not hurt anyone, but she used to say “maskarilikia”, that is, insults and curses. If she met you in the castle, she would made a loud “psssss” and scare you, especially when you didn’t talk to her. Most people were very afraid of her. My wife was pregnant, I remember, and one day she found her and asked her if she wanted any help. She really softened, and said “no, my dear, God bless you”. After the conversation ended, she rested her hand on her belly and said to her “you will have a boy, your man (meaning me) inflated your belly, you had a good time …”
