On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, early in the morning, my brother and I sang carols. I also played the accordion and he played the guitar. We started from the ground floor of the house and sang them to a widow who was waiting for us. Then we toured the whole castle. The money they gave us was little and many did not open the door while we knew they were inside the house. As soon as we finished, we started teasing too. Some laughed and opened the door. Some did not and we kicked the door and rang the bell several times, to knock them out. At two o’clock in the afternoon we stopped.
