In the Osman Tsaus Mosque, the Turkish children threw stones to the Christian children, before the liberation. The Christian children put dung on the door of the mosque, to annoy the Turks. After the catastrophe in Asia Minor, it passed to the Satate and was abandoned, because there were no Muslims in Ioannina. Bishop Spyridon Vlachos made a large school construction program. In 1936 Kaplanio was finished and they started building the Zosimaia Pedagogical Academy. In the spring of 1936, they brought a mechanism, while the construction of Zosimaia had begun, to put explosives to demolish the Minaret. My grandmother told me, that her mother had taken her to see it and that she had taken a picture of it.
