This afternoon, my grandmother told me this story of old Bari and then I went with my mom to see the Arco delle meraviglie. I also took pictures. The popular legend says that long ago, two lovers lived in different buildings but they were facing each other. But there was a problem. The two lovers could not hug or cuddle. Then in one night an arch was built that connected the two windows in order to allow the passage of the two lovers. In old Bari it is said that the Arco delle meraviglie” was built from evening to morning”. In reality, this arch takes its name from an ancient family: “Meravigli” to which these houses belonged.
