A few days after March 24, 1944, when the Germans gathered the Jews of Ioannina, I saw with horror two people hanging on the pier in the plane trees. Many people had come down then to see this horrible spectacle. There I heard that there were two young men who came in to loot Jewish houses and, for example, hanged them.
